LATE NIGHT: Femoid

We were laughing, we were joking, we were girls

‘FEMOID.’ is a critical feminist theatre work that exposes the dark underbelly of Incel culture. Using raw verbatim text from online forums, immersive projections, and bold theatricality, it reveals how digital misogyny infiltrates everyday life.

The story follows Rory, Olive, and Piper, three spirited teenage girls, whose lives are increasingly shaped by sexism that escalates into something more sinister. As resentment festers in online spaces, it begins to shift how men view women, moving from microaggressions to violent ideology. As we grow to love these three young girls we are exposed to the harsh reality of gendered based violence and are forced to pick up the pieces left behind.

The development of this project was supported by La Mama Theatre's 2025 Residency Program, ATYP Peer2Pier, The Blue Room Summer Nights and Gasworks Arts Park.
