Merrijig Rodeo
Fifty years of grit, glory, and good times! Since 1976, Merrijig Rodeo has been more than an event - it’s a tradition rooted in the spirit of the High Country. Every March Labour Day long weekend, families, friends and rodeo fans gather for a day of thrills, spills, and unforgettable memories. In 2026, we’re celebrating our 50th rodeo, and it’s going to be the biggest, boldest ride yet. Don’t just watch history - be part of it! Celebrate 50 years of rodeo tradition - all day long.
The festivities begin at 1:00 PM with our Junior Rodeo, followed by pre-rodeo entertainment from 3:00 PM, including legendary cover band, Don't Ask and our brave local steer riders. Then, at 6:30 PM, the Main Event takes centre stage. Arrive early, soak up the atmosphere, and be part of a day steeped in High Country heritage.
Parking Thanks to the McCormack family, we have plenty of room for parking right next to the rodeo arena. Parking is free of charge. The car park opens at 12 noon. Bus Transfers If you'd prefer to leave the car at home, we've got you covered with bus transfers kindly provided by Busfleet. Bookings are essential for all services. All bus transfers are return services. For Mansfield services, select your pickup time, and you will be presented with the available return options. For all other routes, the return service will be automatically added to your cart at checkout.
