Silent No More
This event will be held in Theatre Two.
As part of the 16 Days of Activism we invite you to join us for a special screening of the powerful new documentary titled Silent No More launched in 2025 by Quantum Support Services. The documentary brings to light the untold stories of women from multicultural backgrounds who have experienced family violence.
Developed by Quantum Support Services and Deakin University under the Strengthening Communities and SAFER projects, with both funded by Family Safety Victoria this documentary not only amplifies the voices of women who have often been unheard, but also serves as a vital training resource for practitioners supporting women in culturally safe and trauma-informed ways.
The film also features insights from police, advocates, and frontline workers – highlighting the importance of trust-building, cultural understanding and systemic support in achieving safety and long-term wellbeing.
This documentary is a message of hope. It shows that there is a way out, that support exists, and that no woman has to walk this journey alone.
The screening will also include a panel discussion featuring representatives from a range of local organisations and services, providing insights and perspectives relevant to the themes explored in the film.
We invite community, practitioners, support workers and services to join us for the screening and help deepen their understanding of the complexities multicultural communities face, and to help shape more culturally responsive and inclusive practice.
Duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes This event is FREE to attend, bookings required.
